DS trinity tuner...really?

well, i finally broke down and purchased a tuner. i went with the trinity b/c has color screen and cool graphics basically. i installed the 60hp tune. i dont really notice too much until second gear, then it seems to have some pull. is that normal for tuners?
neways, i really like it, the pids are cool so i guess i dont really need gauges...as long as truck sensors are accurate. anyone else have the trinity and have the same, no real change with the 60hp issue?

Never heard of it. Was there a specific reason you didnt go with the SCT?

When I ran the predator I didnt notice much with the 60hp tune either (both tuners use same tunes 40hp 60hp and 100hp).

Note: I blew my head gaskets while running the truck hard on the 60hp tune.

awil...thanks for the warning.
i picked the trinity because of the color screen and pid display. they look so much better than the sct livewire...plus i got it for under 500 shipped brand new. anyone with an sct tuner with 60hp tune? how is the power gain?

I have a 50hp tow tune as well and it is slow, but I am also used to driving my 150hp tune.

When I got my sct I ran the stock+ from spartan... Suppost to be like 20-40hp and it noticably spun the tires more. I ran that tune for exactly 2 blocks then pulled over and swapped to gen street and have never loaded that tune again. I currently run hybrid race and like it alot

Innovatives aggressive tow tune (rated for up to the trucks max towing weight) is a 70+hp tune... roughly. However the most important feature of this is the transmission tuning accompanied with it.

If you cool looking displays and pretty colors are your thing, then you probably made the right purchase. If long lasting transmissions and strong running SAFE motors are your thing, then an SCT would be a better choice.

The Diablo stuff is notorious for puking coolant (search the forums). The generic timing is what this is from, if you've ever seen a motor that's been using a tuner such as this (or superchips or bullydog ..yada yada) you'll see the star pattern sprayed way outside of the bowl, this is what causes cylinder pressure to skyrocket and blow gaskets. You'd be safer with a higher horsepower custom tune on an SCT.
