400HP daily driver?
Ok so what I need to know is it even possible? Second, is there a specific year 6.0L that would be the best candidate for this? Third, what combination of parts do you think I'd need? Thanks for the help guys.

some kind of exaust 4inch would work cold air intake if you have the dough and a sct tuner with custom tunes and youll be around 420 or so and yea its very drivable looking around a grand or so and defintely get some gauges tranny boost and pyro and ull be set.

400HP is easily attainable with just a custom tuned SCT although it is recommended that you have a set gauges and freeflowing exhaust also to monitor and reduce your EGT's. Most people prefer to get the later years(05-07) because of some design changes that were made and they more than likely still have warranty left.

![]() Gauges first (pyro and boost at a min, trans if you tow alot or heavy, or even if you don't) Exhaust (4" TB, or just straight pipe the stock) SCT with a good custom tune (Eric's Xstreet or xrace should get you right around 400 RWHP |

just ask anyone 400hp is never enough no matter what you tell yourself power is adictive. agree with above the only thing i dislike about my truck is the headlights and the fact you cant change the speedo with a programer. but the older ones have some hidden goodies

I agree mostly with the above, but ditch the after market CAI. Total waste of money.

I want to say the Xtreme street is around 430RWHP and 750RWTQ give or take ten or so of course. I couldn't be happier with my tune from Innovative.

Thats an under-statement! mods in sig, i dynoed 437 n 710 on IDs Xrace.. and its not enough...as was said only took SCT with a few supporting mods, everyones runnin around 400 horse that has found innovative diesel time to bump it up! thinkin an airdog2, 190s, FICM tuning, with a good tune.. should see 500+HP

Just the regular street tune from Eric is supposed to be good for around 400hp, its just less tq than the xstreet or xrace.
You could literally just buy an SCT from Eric for $425 and get the standard tunes (none of the xtremes) and be right around 400rwhp. I used xtreme tunes for almost a year before I got gauges, just be smart about it, dont tow with hot tunes and use your head. CAI is a waste of money until you're over 500rwhp. |

Great info guys! This is specifically the reason I chose this site over any of the others. So basically the 6.0 is a pretty capable motor other than the headgasket and EGR issues? I just really want to make sure I can do what I want with this truck. I've got the rare chance to purchase basically any truck cash money. So I want to be able to own it for quite a while and enjoy not having payments. I pretty much figure a 2007 6.0 is the truck to have. The newer 6.4 seems to have as much if not even more trouble than the 6.0, and the 7.3 is just a tad too old for me. BTW, mdub, nice looking ride for a CNY truck!! I'm from the same area and I know what it does to vehicles...especially black ones.
