Safe EGT's?

Noticed last night that my EGT's get to around 1450 when under WOT(using the Extreme Street file). And then drops to around 800 as soon as I let off. Does this sound normal?

It pretty much stays there as long as my foot is in it. Would adding an aftermarket exhaust system help to lower that?
