So with an airdog 2 I don't need the regulated return?

Which model did you go with and how was the install? Do you need to drop the tank like the original airdog? What did the set up cost you?

Now correct me if I am wrong, but the regulated return system would still be beneficial, even if you have an airdog.

The stock fuel system does not circulate fuel through the heads. Once fuel or air passes the regulator valve and it goes into the heads, the only way out is through the injectors.

The regulated return system uses the plugged ports at the rear of the heads to pass fuel through the heads and back to the tank. This provides a fresh, cool flow of fuel to your injectors. I am not sure but in my thinking a RR return would perhaps be more important than an airdog system.

Am I correct?

I can answer that for him, since he got it from us. He went with the DF-165. He told me the install was pretty simple, and no you do not drop the tank, you use the factory pickup tube. The cost on that pump is 749.00

there is another pump that would work fine, the DF-150 and its goes for 629.00

Yes and no.

On a regulated fuel pump, the fuel goes completely through the cylinder heads, but it will not return to the tank if the fuel pump is doing the regulating. It basically dead ends at the regulator. The only thing you have added is extra length.

If the regulator is doing the regulating, then you are bypassing the regulator on the fuel pump and loosing the benefits of the FASS or AirDog system.

You can do an airdog 2 and just crossover lines at the back of the head. That's what I would do. The airdog 2 is already regulated, no need to spend the $700 on the airdog 2, then $750 on the ITP regulated return kit, you can get the airdog and then just get x-over lines for around $200.

Both are great products I'm sure, but there is no need to regulate twice. If your'e starting with a bare platform, it just makes more sense to get the airdog 2 then just do the lines at the head.
