Again, the only reported problems are on the 2004s... I'm going to tough it out and wait for the resolve. and yes, the EGT probe is bought separately and required to read EGT temps.

Mine is '03..

Oh really? Edge seemed to think it was 2004s only....That's what they are getting for a test vehicle with the SCT tune and an Insight to try and re-create the problem.

I went through this a while back, drove me insane...here's what works for me:

After putting your tune in..or any time you unhook the Insight:

Key Off, Plug in Insight
(Vin Not Found) Press Enter
(Detecting Vehicle)Choose Ford
(Choose Type)Choose Diesel
(Error Can Communications) Or something like that

Key On
Press Enter You'll get another Can Error
Press Enter again and everything will be happy.

This is paraphrasing of course, but it'll get you in the right direction..I was gonna write it down while I was out in my truck coming up with the sequence for you, but it's freakin cold out!

We cant get the ford option at all. unless it is tuned stock.

Im having this same problem with my insight and sct by eric, my truck is an 03.

I had my sct set on tow last weekend while pulling my trailer and I could only monitor egt's and coolant temp, the insight was stuck on chrysler settings and it wouldnt let me change it i could only select the Gas or Diesel. On my way back from the trip while on the freeway my insight shut off completely so i pulled into the next gas station, shut the truck off, turned it back on and all the insight paramaters worked. All of them! It worked perfectly until last night.

I put my xtreme street tune back in last night and also installed my new tuned FICM from ID and now my insight doesnt work at all, the backlight comes on but there is nothing on the screen now

What is the deal ???

They are aware of the shutting off issue also, I addressed that first thing with them along with the other problems. I hope to get this resolved soon, I know it will be made right one way or another. Mine doesnt come on anymore either, I havent went back to a stock tune again to see if it still will, I am just waiting to find resolve.

Ya i hope they get this resolved pretty soon cuz i really need my gauges for when im pulling my toy hauler up through the mountains. So should i call edge and let the techs know that this has happened again on an 03?

Duuuude, you're my hero. Just loaded up Eric's Tow tune and tried your method, everything showed up. I know it's a temporary fix but a fix that I'm happy with for the moment . Thanks...
