Very bad luck and service with Spartan Diesel tech Phalanx

I purchased a Spartan Diesel Tech Phalanx tuner for my 05 6.0 and it's been nothing but crap..

I spent over 1k on the unit - it took weeks to receive my 2nd tune - I still do not have my 3rd hybrid race tune (been waiting since May 09).

Not to mention the fact that my truck ran much better with the tunes from my old as hell bully dog powerpower pup downloader.

The truck is sluggish - it's not snappy - it shifts very weird .

No...there is nothing wrong with the vehicle - it's not throwing any codes and runs fine when I switch it back to stock.

For over 1k I was expeciting some real performance.


Also, for that much money I was hoping to be able to account for tire size and do much more - that Dashdaq thing is nothing more than a POS - that will read generic ODB codes - and the tuning sucks

Let me know your experience's with these guys -

Unless I'm missing something - don't waste your money on a Phalanx from Spartan Diesel Tech.

I dont know about our 6.0 trucks, but it seems to be the the **** for the 6.4 guys. Tons of power, diagnostic tool, and gauges all in one. As for the 6.0, Im still all for an sct.

The Spartan Phalanx for the 6.0 is still very new so problems are to be expected with something so new.
And I've only heard good things about Spartan, so are you sure you're actually talking to a Spartan diesel tech?

I have sent several emails to sales@spartandieseltech.com - explaining my issues and requesting my third tune with no results.

I purchased the tuner because everybody on the forums said they were great and the service was excellent - not so in my case - miserable tuner - miserable service

You are only the second person I know of with one of spartan's 6.0 units.

They are great with the 6.4's. I have heard mixed reviews on their old 6.0 SCT tunes

What site did you even read that the spartan tuner was awesome for the 6.0? I haven't found a Ford forum yet where everyone and their brother is using the SCT.

The Spartan unit for the 6.4's is amazing. I'm sure its taking a while to get your tune because they are probably up to their necks trying to write 6.4 tunes for customers.

ok - you got me - they didn't say Spartan was awesome for the 6.0 - they said that - Spartan tunes are awesome.
