I use the Live Wire and love it. I lifted my truck and didn't want to lose my A Pillar grab handle to pull my fat a$$ into the truck. I am still going to put some gauges over my rear view mirror one day, but I am quite happy with the Live Wire. some people really love the look of the gauges on the A pillar, so it more or less just becomes an issue of what is your personal preference. If I didn't really use that grab handle I would probably have gauges on the pillar and not need the Live Wire.

I went with the Livewire w/EGT because I didn't want to spend the money on a livewire AND gauges. I got a great deal on the LW w/EGT which saved me money over a Pod kit + LW.

if your dead set on the livewire def get the egt probe....
but i recommend the X3 and gauges... and if you cant afford to do both at the same time do the gauges first.. -Raul Last edited by Raul@Stealth Automotive; 10-14-2009 at 04:42 PM. |

I have a LW and hate to say it but I would NOT mount that ugly thing in my cab.

I know I've seen a number of people who go with X3 and insight. It seems like the Livewire would be a nice all in one. Please elaborate. Thanks! Gregg |

the insight is nice too... but i prefer analog gauges... but at least if you went with the X3 and insight they are separate units.. and its about the same price as the livewire with the egt probe -Raul |

never recommended to run a tuner without gauges, but you could run a mild tune which would improve mpg, just make sure you let the EGT's cool down before turning off the truck
