My understanding is that the hotter the tune the more efficient the truck is ***IF*** you can keep your foot out of it and keep the speed down on the highway.
![]() When I had stock tires I got 22mpg on all highway slowish trip.... averaged about 60mpg and got what I considered to be GREAT mileage. On a fast trip ~80mph I'd get about 17. Now that's I've increased the size of the rubber (35x13.50) my mileage isn't nearly as good...

my best milage is def with the extreme race tune.
Are the hot tunes ok to be used as daily drivers? |

Your best mileage will be with the race file and it is ok to use it as a DD. I have been using Extreme street as my DD for the last 40,000 miles. I average 16mpg with mixed driving

I'm getting 14.6 on my 2007 F350 S/D 4X4. Using a street tune for everday driving from DJ's on my X3. I get @ 13.0 in the tow mode pulling a 32' 5th wheel. And in the street mode on the Interstate I can get it up to 20+ MPG after about 50 miles and it settles in. Good Luck

I drove home from Florida to California with blown head gaskets, drove 65mph all the way home, 38" tires, 8" lift and got 15.2mpg with extreme race. My guess is without blown head gaskets it would have been better. I took my truck to the dealer in florida 3 times in a month for coolant puking and they screwed me all 3 times, even right before my drive across country. Which pisses me off because I could have been stuck in the middle of nowhere if my engine blew up. When I got home my degas bottle was dry and I took it to the dealer in town and they replaced the egr cooler and oil cooler and called and said I had blown head gaskets. It's still in the shop, but I'm eager to see what my mpg will be when it's all fixed up. Thought I'd share my story.
