? about programmers tuning ficm??????????

Got in a arguement with a deisel tech today about the programeer dont change the ficm. he said it has too? i thought none of the tuners did that . seeing u have to get it reprogrammed. trucks running rough when cold he ran test on it and said it had 4 injectors codes all on the same side?????? going to look at it when its cold to see what wrong. no ficm code thats good seeing the 2400 dollars warrnty i bought doesnt cover that. and they are say that ford willnt do 4 injector two max. they say it my problem because of bad diesel, filters or oil changes. guess i will see wensday

the dashdaq reflashes the ficm, sct only reflashes the tcm and ecm. you need to mail the ficm out to get it reburned. good luck with that. if you have to replace injectors and its out of your pocket, just put in a set of 155s ....

The SCT does not reflash the FICM. So far the only programmer that may do that is the spartan. And it's not released to the public. Still being beta tested

That stinks! it is obvious you take extremely good care of your truck. If it is injectors, and it is likely, I would step up and upgrade to help minimize future failures..

My truck through some injector codes, they were also all on the same side. Turns out my FICM was toast. If it was cold it was REALLy hard to start and would run real rough for a minute or two, smoking alot. After warm it would run like a champ. Thats all the FICM experience i have lol.

hope not it just a year old and 400 miles out of warranty.but we got no ficm codes at all

what codes were you getting?

just because it didnt throw a ficm codes doesnt mean its not ficm related.

it could be a bad wiring harness, did they scan truck? what was the voltage going in and out of the ficm

dont know that he said it could be the wiring he going to look at it wensday. he did two test and if the ficm was bad it would have come up. but dont know yet. will find out more wensday
