injector and turbo setup
I want to do a new setup on my truck with the turbo and injectors. Iam going to get an airgdog 150 and throw that on the truck first before i get the injectors. My truck is my daily driver and iam looking for some performance power ( i dont do any towing and if i do its really light about 2k) and I want some good take off buttom end power and good HWY top end power. I had two types of setup in mind let me know what you guys think or if you recommend something else.
A.- 155CC injectors with a Stage 1 VGT hybird turbo ( I want a loud whistle turbo) or B.- 185CC or 190CC with a Stage 1 VGT hybird turbo Current setup is 03 turbo with stock injectors |

the airdog 150 isnt going to do what you think or want it to do. you are better off getting the new airdog2
i think 150/155 is a good size injector |

I'll probably do that then and get the airdog 2.....would that stage 1 VGT hybird turbo go good with those 155 injectors?

i have a buddy that ran 170s with a vgt hybrid and completely hated it. i wont get into too much detail. but it was laggy and just didnt do it for him. i drove the truck wasnt impressed at all.
it was made from an 06 turbo. |

Match your Airdog with your injectors, before you go buying the 150 or 100, or Airdog 2 either way talk to the vendor your getting it from first. 150 probably a bit much for the 155's, If your gonna run the 150 it be better paired up with 190's. Also if he boost the pressure on the airdog 150 he can bypass the frame fuel pump. and run straight to the fuel bowl or to the front of the heads. Different possibilities its been done many different ways. You can just keep it inline with everything, or delete it and get a Aeromotive Fuel Pump and do a custom set- up of your own.

so what turbo would you guys recommend for 155 or 190 injectors? Or staying with the 03 turbo and run the 155 injectors is that a bad setup?

03 turbo would be good with the 155s. also id recomens the airdog 2 over airdog 1. I have a fass so it is closer to the design of that. mine holds 55 psi all the time on my 190s. 155s are a good size for everyday and when used with a small shot of nos, you can still get some decent track times.

As said above with Sam. My 03 turbo I had for 2 yrs with 190s held up fine but it could have used more air. With a stock set-up I would go with 155's.

and what do you mean match your airdog with your injectors? the airdog is nothing more then a helper pump for the stock lift pump on the rail. saying to get the 100 for a pair of 155s doesnt make sense. when i was buying my airdog i bought the 150. i didnt see a reason to buy the smaller pump. then i bought a raptor to eliminate the pump on the rail and filter up by the motor. this was before the airdog2 was even out. with the pumps you can adjust the pressure. so for whatever reason you would buy the smaller pump doesnt make any sense. |
