Most of the vendors can rite a good tune. Some tuners have tunes for studded and non studded trucks. Contact one of the vendors and find out what they can do for you.

i would say 90% of people running Erics tunes are not studded.... just get yourself some gauges and a X3 with his tunes and you will be alright... PM me if you need any more details or prices

I've had Innovative tunes by Eric for almost 2 years and no problems. Just like Rual said get some guages so you know when to let off.

I have been running Eric's tunes for 3 years, no studs, no problems. Just pay special attention to your EGT's and boost

You should be ok. Safe sustained EGT is 1250*, and you can go as high as 1600-1800* for real short runs, like the 1/4 miile. This is all good on paper, but sometimes, even following the parameters set by others, theres always a chance of something bad happening. I haven't, but all truck are different. The boost is the same, but different. If you're running 1300* EGT, and 27 lbs of boost, that's just that much more pressure inside that cylinder, pushing out on the HG's.

Hang around here long enough and you'll hear "sometimes you have to pay to play"

What are all you guys running for tunes. Everyone s saying you will be fine with custom tunes and gauges but no one has mentioned if its the tow tunes or race tunes or what from ID. Most vendors will probably tell you to keep it safe with a high tow tune. I am most positive that if you run the race all the time you are bound to have some sort of issue. but like it was said previously, some guys do run them for 2 or 3 years now and have not had issues. The biggest thing is managing how you use it. Some guys cant leave it alone and are constantly beating the bag out of the truck. Like towing with a race tune. Probably not a smart move on a non studded block. A race tune is also more prone to give you problems on a stock block if your hard on it.

Its really a roll of the dice and matter if your lucky number comes up.
