I'm looking forward to this quiet pump.
Looks easy to install, all fittings and hoses labeled and precut to length.
I'll update soon as I find time to install.
The 4g is just the name of the new pump design. The pressure will depend on the kit you are buying. If you buy the 6.0 specific kit then it is capable of 80psi+ and come with a regulator built in to control the pressure. Most are pre-set to around 65psi. For the Dodge, Chevy, and 6.4 powerstroke the pumps are set around 15-20psi.
Well... I ordered my air dog 4g and installed it earlier this year after hearing all the good reviews... only to find out I had a 2g pump on it. I was very disappointed (it ended up being my own mistake, just ordered the wrong one). I had zero issues with it (even though we all know the 2g is prone to failure). The only two downsides are that it was LOUD and it would start to drop fuel pressure just a little when doing 1/4 miles runs on a really hot tune, right near the end of the run you could see the pressure start to fall off and then I would let out. It did not happen during normal driving or on any of my dyno runs. I made about 700hp with 205s and the 2g did fine. I ended up buying a 4g pump just for the piece of mind (just the pump, not the whole kit)
I finally got switched out to the 4g pump last night. The swap was really easy, only took about 30min. If I did it again I could probably do it in 10-15 min. WOW the 4g pump is WHISPER QUIET. I had to stick my hand on the pump to make sure it was even on.
I still need to do some solid hard runs, but I have not seen the fuel pressure budge more than 2-3psi so far.
I wonder how well the 4g would hold up to 450/150 hybrids??? Maybe I will just run dual 4g pumps on my KC Turbo Race Truck
Yep just did the same last week. I called and was ready to spend a chunk of money to just have the 4g pump and was surprised at the upgrade price. Said send it and it is amazing how quiet this thing is now!!
how are yall monitoring the pressure? with a analog gauge or a plug and play system to a monitoring unit?
