my dad was having trouble with his 06 6.0. so took it in to the dealer to get it looked at. turned out it was a bad egr valve. now for the problem the dealer flashed the computer. and he didnt set it back to stock. a few days later he went to pull his trailer and switched the edge box to tow. and the truck was dead everything power wise would work but no start. get the truck towed back to the ford dealer computer is fried. they put a new computer in and flash again. truck runs better now than it ever has. now to my point is the edge box smoked as well or will it still work. he doesnt want to put it back on if it is gonna mess up the computer again. thanks for any help and sorry for the long post

This isn't quite the scenerio that I'm used to. Usually it's someone that forgot to revert back to stock and they sold it to someone else, however, I still think there might be an issue because the "box" still has the original stock tune from before you dad got it re-flashed. I don't think it would work, but I'm not used to this particular scenerio. Maybe someone that has experience with the exact situation might chime in later.
