no muffler?
i bought my 07 6.0l liking the anti-dodge sound....but now i want to hear it. if i cut out the muffler straight pipe it. will it trip any types of emissions codes?
it is the last thing i want to do is drive with the big warning light lite. also, i am thinking about doing the cat delete, with the muffler and cat gone will that trip codes? thanks, and i am sure this has been asked before but have not found it yet. thanks for any help -arick |

When I straight piped my '07 (cat and muff delete) I had zero codes and no check engine light. I'm no tech, but I wouldn't expect yours to be any different. If I'm wrong, someone will probably chime in.
P.S.- If you want sound, you'll get it with a cat and muff delete!

It will be a lot louder. It really isn't that loud though unless you really get on it.

I have just the muffler cut and dumping out to the side in front of the rear tire. It isn't loud at all, until you put the fun pedal down. You can hear the turbo a lot better when driving and even when you are sitting still. However it is not as good as a 4" or 5" exhaust but it is better than stock. No codes will be thrown at all.

You will have no issues with codes being thrown. If I was you, I would delete the cat and muffler. If your worried about it being too loud, I have a stainless steel silverline muffler that I will make you a good deal on.

No codes are going to be thrown at you, so don't worry about that. With a turbo back straight piped exhaust, it really isnt loud at all until you get to about 3000 rpm (for me). The best is driving through a tunnel and mashing it.

Im not sure if you are aware of this or not, but according to the sooner powerstroker bylaws: you are required to bring beer or whiskey anytime you visit the chapter directors house ![]() ![]() Seriously though, if you come down we can BS a bit and have a few beers Last edited by stroken04; 07-29-2009 at 12:32 PM. |
