This tuner is hard on the tranny, not as hard as edge products, but it is hard on them. I wouldn't run it without gauges. I actually don't recommend driving without gauges if you tow quite a bit, daily driving use is a different story, but it it's used as a truck was intended I would put a set of gauges to it.

I didn't use the plain power pup, but I did use the triple dog power pup, only difference was that I could use mine on any of the big three diesel rigs at the time.
While the power of it was good, it didn't quite do right with the tranny and I'm more then convinced it caused the ruining of my intermediate clutch(which does affect the shift into 5th gear, it is also the weakest link in the torqshift setup in stock form) as well as my headgasket issues.
EGTs did get excessive even with the tow tune at times. I really wouldn't run a tuner without gauges. You can exceed recommend EGT levels just easily merging into traffic on the interstate with an "off-the-shelf" tuner especially, but even with one that offers custom tunes.
In all honesty, speaking as someone that owned a bullydog product in the past, I would either get rid of it as it will more then likely cost you more in the long run or I would put a set of gauges on it irrelevant of who is the daily driver.
