SCT is written for your truck, almost all other tuners do nothing for your trans at all. With the SCT the writters can actually change shift points, line pressure and locking your torque convertor when needed. Also doing tow files race files etc. Also they can control the timing and fuel on them as well. Too much timing will cause a start pattern on your piston which leads to major issues. Other tuners can also damage your trans and make you go through them yearly or even monthly. As for boost stock is set at 27 with a tuner it can recieve up to 30 or 35.
