SCT 6.0fuel mileage?

Have an '06 6.0 1 ton... all stock. I want to know what kind of fuel mileage you guys have gained or lost after installing your SCT. I'm trying to find a tuner that is going to give me the best mpg, not just the most hp. Can anyone give me a little info?

That depends on who you ask

Some say they gained 4-5 mpg on the high HP tunes, and others like me gained maybe 2-3. The higher HP tunes will reap better fuel mileage, especially on the highway. I've heard of people getting up to 22 mpg on the highway with a race tune and driving nicely.

The best I ever done was 19mpg on a street tune (all highway miles)

I usually got between 15-17

In all honesty, whatever people tell you isn't going to do you a whole lotta good, because even if they all said that they gained some type of mpg there is no promise that you'll gain anything at all.

There are so many variables that go into mpg calculations that it is just too individualized between each driver that it really doesn't matter what anyone "claims" that they got with the addition of a tuner(if any at all).

I can tell you that I have never gotten what people claim to have gotten on stock trucks(when my truck was stock and people were rattling off mpg numbers for stock trucks).

If you get an SCT(or other device) and you get an improvement.... great. If you don't, then that happens. One thing is for sure, "you" really shouldn't buy a performance enhancing device with the expectation of huge mpg gains and still able to have fun with the hp increase. The potential is there, but don't expect, it's gravy if it does happen.

havent really noticed a difference.... any good tuner can write a economy tune for an sct if you are looking to go that route.

I got 18 mpg on a 80+ mph 400 mile trip a month or so ago running the SCT with an Extreme Race tune. Then the other day on a slow 2 lane highway trip I got 22mpg cruising along at around 60.

With the Race tune if you keep your foot out of it you get damn good mileage.

I gained nothing but power. My MPGs did not change, even with the "economy street" tune.

Exact same here.

I avgd 15.1 stock (truck in sig), then drove on economy tune for one full tank, keeping rpms under 2k, and boost under 10psi. I avgd 15 on the dot. Then I ran extreme street and drove like a mad man and got 15.3, so guesss which tunes I use...

I have better mileage with the stock but using a CAI and 5" exhaust. My mileage on the SCT tunes street to extreme race are all about the same as stock before the CAI and exhaust. Anyone know what the main difference between Eric's street, extreme street and extreme race are?

I've been trying to figure out why my mileage isn't better. I had an Edge Juice before and it gave me great mileage in level 5, about 16% gain. I drive the same with the SCT tunes as I did with the Juice. Is it because the SCT doesn't defuel? I also noticed that my EGT could get up to 1400 in the extreme street but only around 1350 in extreme race. Any thoughts? I switched to SCT knowing that the tranny would be tuned, since I put in a Suncoast level 3 tranny and troque converter but was told I would get the same or better mileage than the edge.

Any thoughts? Running stock injectors and turbo fyi

We drive 8000lb trucks, running 700+ft/lbs at the wheels, and you're worried about fuel mileage? haha.

Street is just a fun mild tune for every day driving and towing up to 10k lbs.
X street is an all out HP tune
X race is the same, but with a torque converter lock in 2-5 gears.

The switch to SCT was worth it alone for the transmission savings.

As I was first told when I asked the same questions... always mod for horsepower, not mileage. If you happen to get better mileage then be greatful.
