TUNER QUESTIONS? LOOK HERE!
So, I see that the first page in this forum is mainly about tuners, so why not make one thread that everyone can post in? Sticky it if you really want it to be useful.
First and foremost, I am in no way an expert on 6.0s, but I can read just like everyone else so I research quite a bit.
By far the most agreed upon tuner will be SCT. Most popular are the X2 and X3 tuners. The benefit of a custom tune over a banks, edge, *insert generic brand here* tuner is that a custom tune will tune the transmission, and based on my understanding they are also safer on the engine as it is actually directly modifying the tune on the truck, rather than piggybacking and modifying the signals live.
When adding horsepower with a custom SCT tune, the tuner will increase line pressures and such in the trans so it will actually SAVE your transmission from slipping and therefore increasing its reliability with the higher horsepower.
As for who to get your tune from, there are many different guys tuning. They will all adjust their tunes to meet your needs and most of them use the same software to do it, so its just a matter of who you feel comfortable with.
Personally, I use tunes from Cale at BTS(Brians Truck Shop). Others will mention Innovative and a few others I cant recall.
