Purchasing a 6.0 questions regarding exhaust and programmer

I plan on purchasing a 6.0 in the next week or so. I have been looking at the 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke Juice Platinum with Attitude which controls the transmission as well. I also would like to get a turbo back complete exhaust. I want to make this engine last as long as possible, and from all of the bad things I have been reading on here, I am not sure what to do. Please reply with tips and info. Thanks!

if you want the motor AND transmission to last as long as possible, i would suggest against the Juice Platinum. Get the SCT programmer with custom tunes from Eric at Innovative Diesel. Then you can get the Edge insight monitor which i think is even a better monitor than what comes with the Juice Platinum.

I haver a 06 and i drive it like I stole it and I have not had one problem out of the motor with the exception of have to have a new EGR put in under warranty. People can down these engines all they want to I love mine!

OOPS I did not comprehend what I read. lol. Get a SCT X# with Innovative Diesel Tunes. Innovative is to the 6.0 what Spartan is to the 6.4

I have been seeing a lot of people talking about the SCT, and I do not know anything about them, so I guess I will start doing some research on them, but I was wondering why the Edge with the transmission controls is not recommended?
Also is the manufactures warranty 100,000 miles for the 6.0?
Should I be scared to buy a 2006 6.0 CC Lariat Fx4 with 46,000 miles for $30,000.

Absoluely Not! SCT is an Org Sponsor. Yes the warrant is 5yr 100K The great thing about the SCT is it is untaceable for warrant work go back to stock and no worries.

the warranty is a 5 yr 100K on the powertrain, but starts on the ORIGINAL purchase date. it has pretty low mileage, i see alot with near 100K or more. sounds like a god deal, but i bet you can talk them down a few thousand dollars and get an even better deal! before you buy, you should get an OASIS report done to see what repairs have been made by ford..

i got mine back in march. samme year 39,000 miles 4x4 cc just not lariet for $24. so dont get in a rush..shop around u can find good deals

I have to clear some things up. The 5/100 warranty is engine, Fuel system and PCM only. Not complete powertrain
