OBD port - multiple connections
I happily have the Banks 6-gun tuner - it plugs into the OBD port under the dash. I want to get the Edge as a guage only. But it plugs into the OBD port too. So how do I plug both into the single OBD port?

You ditch the banks, get custom tunes and then plug in your gauges to the obd port

I started this thread as a legitimate problem to overcome that does not include your personal choice in tuners. As the thread stated - I'm happy with my Banks.
This thread isnt to qualify or disqualify a particular tuner but how to overcome an issue. There has got to be a part number out there somewhere that would allow multiple connections to the OBD port. Maybe Summit or Jegs or somewhere like that. The arrogance of simply getting another tuner doesnt really solve anything. Now - back to the original question - does anyone know how to make multiple connections to a single OBD port? |

I can't help you with your issue, but I agree with your sentiment.
One would think there is an adapter of some sort to piggyback. |

Anyway to get a OBD connector from a wrecked truck, and splice into the orginal connector...may take some time, but probably be cheaper than ordering a connector like your looking for...If theres one out there.....

I don't know if you're going to be able to use both of these devices at the same time. The physical connector can be modified to plug into both of them but I'm not sure that they can both work on the J1850 bus at the same time.
One potential issue is that both the Six-Gun and the Edge probably use the same address. The standard defines a default address for scan tools and doesn't reserve any other addresses. As a result when someone designs something to plug into the OBD port they would tend to use the scan tool address expecting it to be available. |
