SCT help!

I got the email back from Eric today and I was a little confused about the install. I downloaded the Firmware and the updater software. Is that all I need to do before I try and load the tunes. I can’t make heads or tail out of the directions he sent me. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm currently waiting on my tunes from Eric too and dont really know how to install them either. (im not sure anyone really knows) Everyone i have talked to has had to call SCT and have a tech walk them thru it.

Every set of directions i read either here on the forum or on SCT's website are not very clear at all.

Have y'all downloaded all three things off of the sctflash website?

thats where the confusion comes in. when i go to SCT's website, there is only the firmware and the device update software. I will be trying to run the xcal 3.

And none of my computers will work with the file format for the firmware when i download it.

Have you downloaded the X3/Livewire FirmWare Updater and can you pull it up on your computer? Also, I would save the tunes from Eric in a file that can be easily found. All my tunes and truck stuff are in a folder on my desktop so I can find them easily

yes, i have downloaded the only two things that are available to download from SCT's website for the model x3 that i have recieved.

I just dont understand how there is not a clear set of written directions on exactly what to do once you recieve your tunes from eric and you have saved them to the desktop.

I have printed out all kinds of threads and other directions that i have found online and all of them have a different way of doing it.

I am hoping it wont be a problem with the way i think it has to be done. If thats the case, i will be sure to type up a set of instructions for others to use down the road.

Any other input would be greatly appreciated if you have already been down this road.

Also, did you plug your x3 into your computer before you downloaded any of the software?
