Money To Burn Need Help With Mods!!

Here we go boys... probably going to have my 06' f-150 4x4 sold within the next week, unless some of you are interested?? Anyways I'm going to buy my parents 04' PSD from them. Its a 2004 6.0 Lariat Ex. Cab 4x4 75K. It is what i call "Ford" blue with the two-tone paint of of grey on the bottom. All stock except for an AFE intake. So the way I see it is I'm going to have some money to spend on goodies for the truck since im sweet talking them into a good deal on it. So lets see I got $3,000 to spend on it. What should I get? I know the first thing will be new rims and tires, stock jsut aint going to cut it. after that I was going to do exhaust? what type? I dont want a cat on thats for sure. Then i was thinking guages and then a tuner?? oh does anyone have pictures of the same colored truck with some wheels on them i want to get an idea of how it would look with new wheels and meaty tires

Well the wheels and tires are of course for the looks, I have some other ideas in mind down the road for looks, billet grill, smoked lenses, ect. and after the wheels nad tires its more for performance, with performance I want a few extra MPGS along with some nice pulling power, and of course the rare show off for the friends with some coal

Just some thoughts...

The wheels and tires will put a pretty big hurt on those 3 bills. And then if you go big it'll cost you on mpg and maybe drivetrain wear. If you go too big you'll need to get lifted....bye bye 3000.

Might want to start with reliability, mpg and performance mods. Gauges, exhaust, tuner, etc. And start to get in the habit of being meticulous about maintenance. If it moves clean it, lube it and cool it. Once you get all that done you'll be ready for the big boy toys.

The exterior mods will dress you up but if you plan things right you'll save enough money in the long run to get into all that stuff.

And for information you'll want to do a lot of reading here on this forum. Amazing the knowledge these fellas have and they're always willing to share it. And remember that when you are spending those dollars look up the sponsors of this site....they're the ones that keep it going.

If you want a really pretty truck, clean the dash, windshield and hood....about the only thing you'll see from where you're at anyways....

Gauges- get some good quality gauges such as Autometer, Isspro, etc., get ahold of Raul @ Stealth
Exhaust- contact Gus @ Farmboys diesel, or Raul @ Stealth they can get you a killer deal on an exhaust
Programmer- SCT of course, with tunes from who ever you please. I run Cale's tunes from BTS, and a lot of people run Eric's tunning from ID.
Stage 1 fuel system from Trusted- This mod will help your stock injectos live a long and happy life, also will smooth out you engine.

Hope this helps, I love helping other people spend their money. Good luck with the new truck.

Going to synthetic oil on the changes will help those injectors and the turbo as well. Something that "you'll" have to do anyway and if "you" do the changes "yourself", "you'll" be able to come out a little bit ahead even doing synthetic, because of not having to deal with the labor charge to have someone else do the job for "you".
