Picked up an 05

hello folks,
On Friday I am picking up an 05 that I found in South Carolina. Ive been looking for about a month and this seem like the right one to get but I figured Id get some opinions. the vehicle has 180K on it. At 130K the vehicle had a catastrophic failure due to overheat when the guys wife was driving. They had the dealer install a new 6.0 with studs and egr delete, turbo etc etc..all new. He has all the paperwork from the dealer and on Monday ill go to my local dealer and run the vin. also at 100k he did new ball joints and shocks. New hankook tires 2 weeks ago. Ok ...all this for 13K...sounds good right? or to good? Whats your opinion.......

WELCOME to the site. Price seems maybe a little low. I would not touch a 6.0 without putting a monitor on the truck first. Dont get me wrong I love my 6.0, but these trucks are great at hiding problems until the go booooom. And thats also the sound of your checking account....

Sounds like everything you would have wanted to happen with someone else paying for it. The price does seem low.

ok so I bought the truck. Flew into South Carolina and drove it home to Tampa. Averaged 17 MPG home on paper and the cpu was dead on. So far so good. Few cosmetic issues but all in all a really nice truck. Might need ball joints. Ill change all fluids and do a flush this week. I think im gonna do a 3" lift and some wheels and 4" exhaust but that's it I think.

Cool. Sounds like you got a fair deal, and with the big mods already taken care of. Congrats, enjoy it!

Your mpg seems low to me.. unless you were running 80+ on the way home or making a bunch of stops. I've always seen just over 20mpg on a straight highway tank cruising around 73 mph.
