Excursion Tire and Rim Sizes
Before I buy new tires and rims, I wanted to run this past all of you. My excursion has the factory 16" rims on it, with great almost new A/T rubber.
The current tires are LT265/75R/16/E 123S and are almost like new. Lots of life left on them.
I'd like to put 18x9" rims on it, to give me more rubber on the road while towing. These tires would be 275/65R/18/E 123R street tires. That's the size on the stock 18" optional tires offered when these beasts were new. No speedometer adjustments would be needed, and I could put the 16" A/T tires back on for winter driving as needed. (I live in northern canada. We get real bad winter up here!)
I'm assuming the thread pattern of the 18" rims are identical to those of my 16" rims? 8/170 with 0 offset. Can anyone confirm my assumption before I order these things online?
