What is this Excursion worth?

Been looking around for an excursion for a new vehicle. Planning to bulletproof it once bought. I found this one pretty close to my parents house and my dad went to look at it for me and said it was remarkably clean and he checked all the problem areas engine wise and saw no signs. I will be home this weekend for Easter supper with my family and will go look at it myself. It is a 2004 Excursion 4x4 with a 6.0 and 84,600 miles. Ranchhand bumper as well. They are asking $28000 which seems high, but maybe I'm crazy. Just wondering what a fair price to offer would be. Thanks in advance.

I would think you are crazy if you pay anywhere near that.
I would likely insult them if I made an offer what I think it is worth.
5 years ago, when I bought my truck, that amount would have bought you an 05 Ex 4x4 Limited, LOADED, that was absolutely mint condition, with half as many miles on it.

That's what I thought. Looking at all the dealers around, they must all be nuts about their excursions. I used KBB and got what it says is a fair offer and plan to offer them that. Around 20,000. I'm hoping for a typo or something, because that price is nuts.

I paid $14,500 less for mine. They're completely nuts. I found a 2002 with the 7.3 and 128,000 on it for 16,500 and passed on it.

$11573 in Feb 2014 for my 2004 Eddie Bauer 6.0. Picked it up in College Station. Looked at a bunch in Houston (I live in The Woodlands) and they were all too high. Looked at one in Dickinson for $16k but it was trashed and would not get up to 65 MPH. POS.
