03 EXC side view mirror replacement issue

I have a 2003 exc limited stock 6.0 185M for 10 years now. Recently busted off passenger side teardrop mirror with blinker and defrost built in (tree) Got the bigger stock ford mirrors.. blinker and defrost working but "not" running light built in mirror. Probably because tear drop didn't have running lights.. anybody have a clue how to get them working ?? Id really like them to work.

Tapped mine into the trailer brake controller. Could tap into the headlight switch too .

Thanks I'll look at that today. 1) How will I know which line to splice into. (color?) Also suggestion of tap into power window.. doesn't sound bad but the light will never go off. What are your thoughts about that because of ease ?

I used a test light. Markers come on with first turn of light switch. I used t taps to make the connections. Don't recall the color though.

Thanks ! Did you spice in both sides on same wire ? seems like over load potential or fuse possible problem.

I used a wire from left to right mirror. Then cut that and used a crimp cap and another piece of wire to make a pigtail and t tapped to the brake control wire under the dash that had a wire for the lights.

Good deal. Think that is my favorite mod. Love the power fold and lights at night.
