Hello froMA

Hi everyone yesterday I picked up a 2005 X limited with 134k on it. All I can say is.... Why did it take me this long to get one. Got a great deal on and have over $5k in receipts all done from dealer. So I have a friend of a friend which is a diesel tech at ford run diagnostics so far so good. The truck is completely stock. I think I'm just going to do is exhaust and air intake. I ordered the wheel spacers already from Fred just haven't decided which wheels I want to go with. I haven't decided if I want to do a tuner yet.

Do you have any type of monitor system yet? If not, that would be my number one priority. I have an Edge CTS and love it, many others on here have a scanguage and have good reviews. I wouldn't waste your time with an intake. Do the updated fuel pressure regulator spring. Exhaust is up to you, I only have a cat delete on mine right now.

As far as tuners go, most people on here will recommend SCT hands down. I don't have a tuner, but when I go that route it will be with SCT.

Congratulations on the X and

Post up some pics!!!

I'm from Fitchburg. Isn't the CTS a tuner also?

The version that I have is an Evolution tuner also, but I don't use it as a tuner. I liked the CTS and got it anyway when they first came out. They now have the CTS Insight which is just the gauges.

You may want to start with a simple plug in OBDII Bluetooth device. Search amazon for "ELM327" then get the torque App for your phone. It costs about $20 total and will help you learn about your X. You will need to check you EOT to ECT delta and start looking for signs of head gasket leaks. They all leak if they don't have studs it's just a matter of how bad. Don't get too worried you will learn all about this and how to fix it here.

The air intake you have is already good for 550 RWP+ already and filters better than any aftermarket filter so forget that. Pretty much the same with the exhaust. Until you you get a permanent monitor, an EGT sensor if you are going to tow and a tuner leave the air filter and exhaust stock. I have been running both stock with a tuner for over 100K with no problems.

You had asked about my X in a PM it has the V and B code swap from years ago. It has unmodified B codes in back. Bruce 1954 helped me with that but CaryT also can help you with the spring info. The wheels and tires are from a 2013 F350. Check your PM's.

Not the best picture but clears the 34" tall tires with 2" spacers and minimum lift for highway driving.
