Good, Bad & Ugly--2003 Excursion 6.0

I am looking at buying my first Excusion and first diesel engine--a 2003 Limited w/6.0 and 46000 miles. It has an after market computer gizmo that adjusts engine performance from stock up to five stops. The current owner has had no problems, no major repairs.

Drove the truck a couple of days and absolutely love it. The power is awesome. Should make a great vehicle for occasional long tows of my offshore boat (approx 7500 lbs) with family. Except for that, it will probably be parked most of the time.

This looks like the truck for me, but I have been getting a few people on the boating forums tellling me to watch out for problems with the 03-04 6.0.

Can anybody fill me in on this, good bad or ugly?

Anything in particular to look for or check out?

Any advice much appreciated.

Hey thanks Big. Is that report specific to each vehicle or just a report of work done on that model Ex?
