Looking at 05 X

Hi all. Looking at an 05 X with 128k on it looks very clean from pictures and owners description. I read all the threads on things to look for.

If properly maintained what kind of mileage are people seeing with the 6.0 in the X before they start running into egr/cooler/gasket problems? I know that is kind of a vague question but just looking for opinions

Next question. I am thinking that I may start bulletproofing soon after I get it. If so what do you feel are my best and most economical options for buying a complete kit with egr delete or cooler, oil cooler, studs and gaskets, etc.

Thanks for all your help

Not to sound like a jerk, but the best thing to do is read through the stickies in the 6.0 forum. Lots of info for exactly what your asking. Then if you have any questions, I'm sure the 6.0 experts will be glad to answer any more of your questions.

It depends on how the truck was driven. Lots of idling and short trips where the engine doesn't get up to full operating temps for a long time are BIG factors with EGR systems. You'll probably save in the long run if you buy it all at once. Just remember to keep the EGR valve electrically connected. Also, when you get tired of the bad ride, bad handling, give Cary at CT Performance a call he knows pretty much everything about our Ex's. He's a supporting sponsor.
