Replacement jack

I picked up a used 03 Excursion. It has the bottle jack, but is missing the jack handle and lug wrench. They're not on the radiator and I don't have a spare tire cover, so no pouch. I talked to the local Ford parts counter and the handle assembly is discontinued.

I'm thinking a bottle jack on potentially uneven road shoulders isn't really a great idea anyway. So, I'll probably look for some generic scissor jack etc. and a 4 way lug wrench for more leverage.

I'm thinking I need at least 3 to 4 ton lift capacity and I'll need to measure off to make sure the max height is enough. Any opinions? Anyone else replace their jack and happy with their choice?

Thanks,
Moose

A big bottle jack, and a pate and or wooden block for cribbing is safer then the stock jack, you can get a regular floor jack and remove the handle for storage.

I ended up buying this for $40 at Tractor Supply:

Powerbuilt® 3 Ton Jack & Jack Stand - Tractor Supply Online Store

It seems beefy enough, has a nice wide base, and should cup under the axle nicely.
