Can u tell which trans I have?

I am waiting for my X to show here on the Island but as luck would have it I found a trans go shift kit for the Ford 4r100 for $75. I'd like to pick it up but since the truck isn't here yet, I'm not sure which tranny it has. I do have the Vin so if you tell which digit to look for I can check it out.

What year is your X. If it has a 6.0 in it, then you should have a 5R100. The 4R100's were used behind the 7.3L's from 2000-2003. There for the shift kit you are looking at will not work with the 5R100.
