Tow mirrors-paint to match or not to paint that is the ?
Got some tow mirrors on the way. With signals-have smoked recons in them
Should i paint them to match my ex? Mineral grey in color. Or leave them black? Thanks Mike

When I swap mine for the Tow with signal, I plan on painting mine to match. I think it sets off the mirrors when they're painted to match.

Someone made a good point to me of it chipping from stuff hotting it and bugs

If you use a paint specifically to bond to plastic like colorbond, etc. Chipping from bugs and such wont be an issue. Am I saying its impossible to chip, no. With due care, you shouldnt have a problem. Aftermarket places also sell painted replacement covers for the mirrors also.

the caps they sell for paint are better than the textured caps the black mirrors have
but you need a good shop to do it clear and cure properly

I think it depends on the whole truck...if the black works with ur truck or if the color match would be better.....I've been thinking out it with my truck but I think the black mirror looks better...so look be sure to look at the whole truck

If u just have them painted over the texture they won't have a nice glossy look. When I did mine I primed the area then sanded them flat first before paint. Didn't know u could get paintable caps that weren't chrome. I go that route. Mine were a lot of work.

Well my ex is mineral grey. Its a limited so the grille and bumpers are painted. Then it has the bumper pads & valance & running boards are tan. Im going to tint the front door windows. Then I'm planning on black/machined wheels
