Buy a buyback??

04 X, 112K miles. $15950.

A CA vehicle that was a buyback @ 25K miles, but don't know why. 2nd owner was retired couple who bought it and used it to tow a small camping trailer across the country for about 90K miles (verified by current seller). No leaks. No blow by. No smoke on start after sitting for a week. Degas bottle is not crusty or white and shows no outward signs of stress.

Need to pull Oasis for specifics on buyback, but it could've been something minor like a bad injector.

What do you guys think.......I'm in my next PSD for the long haul, so a mark on the carfax isn't a big deal to me.

You need to be a member to get an oasis pulled. there is a special section for the request.

As for the truck you should get a scanner and check the delta temps.

If you need to buy a monitor let me know and I can get you hooked up! Edge Insight CS/CTS or even the new SCT Livewire TS that is a programmer that doubles as a monitor as well. Let me know what you think!

Still in progress for EOT and ECT deltas. Appears that the buyback inspection was right around the time of a faulty FICM. Tech notes indicate lots of black smoke (excess fuel??) and repeated CEL.

Buy backs are not for minor items. They are bought back because the dealer cant figure out how to fix them and they have already made a few attempts.

U should get a bumper to bumper warranty as well for 12000 miles. I bought one this summer.cali only requires 3 times of unhappy dealer trips and they have to buy it back. Mine was a suspension issue. Ball joints track bar and fixed. Just do all the checks. In Columbia, mo joe machens specializes in them

Warranty is a must. I got snookered into my warranty for $2,000 that was hidden in the purchase price. My first trip to the dealer 4 months after i bought it was $2600 bill for a alternator and 4 injectors. Got my moneys worth.
