Flakes in fuel when water separator was drained

I have noticed the last two times I've drained my spectator that there has been these amber colored flakes in the fuel. Looks like varnish or something. Was wondering if it was from fuel tank delaminating but everything I have read says that the fuel tank is plastic. Haven't had a chance to check to see if it is plastic or not. Anybody have any idea what these flakes could be? I know it's causing issues with my fuel pressure and my fuel filter. Thanks in advance for any help.

It's rust flakes from the fuel level float arm.
