Leveled out the Ex today

[NC-Excursion]

Put the donor springs in the front today. They were from a 02 F350 and I put new urethane bushings in from Energy Suspension. She has about a half inch of rake now. Rides better and I have more clearance for the new tires when these finally wear out. The job took about 4 hours with numerous beer/soda breaks. I had the help of a buddy and his 12 year old son. The kid was a huge help. Having that third set of hands was great. Nothing was incredibly hard but a lift would cut the time in half. We used nothing but hand tools and jacks and jack stands. I love the way it looks. Now I just want to get air bags for the rear. Keeping an eye on Craigslist for them. I'll get the pictures up tonight when I get on the computer.

I just did the standard V's up front and left the rears. I am toying with the idea of putting some air bags I the back end. I like the level look bu I want to be able to add some pressure when I hook up the boat and such. Now I've just got to find a set of air bags that don't cost me an arm and a leg.

I spoke with Cary via email a few weeks ago. He gave me a run-down of his modifications and to be perfectly honest, I'm not willing to spend the money to do everything he suggests. I'm not trying to say his ideas are bad or that they are over priced, its just too much for me. I have a little one on the way and I'm trying my best to save money in case this economy gets any worse. I appreciate the information Cary gave me, but I am going to go my own route and shop around for options. It might not be the best way, but its the path I've chosen. I don't do much off-roading and I do very little towing, so its mainly a hobby that I only get to indulge myself with every so often. Thanks for the suggestion and I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
