a/c issue
anyone else have this issue:
when turning truck on without having turned a/c unit off before turing truck off.... a/c blows on mix of dash and vents when placed on vent, dash and floor when placed on floor....basically dash and anything else instead of whatever you wanted it blow on... if turned a/c off.... to get to work right...press auto...then select which vent location..the hit a/c.....the slowly increase fan speed to desired setting.... this all started about 3 weeks ago when my a/c unit decided not to work. i pulled the unit, unplugged it and plugged it back in and it worked fine....for about 3 days...then the above symptoms started... a/c still blows cold (or as cold as it'll get for having a leak in the system some where...yea yea, gotta get it fixed...) blower motor works....seems like either the head unit is confused or the valve that divertst the air is getting stuck somewhere.... |

well I think you have it narrowed down to the two most likely problems, the head unit (an electric problem) or a sticking solenoid on the blender door.
Since it started after you unplugged the head unit, and that was because the system was not working, that is where I would start. You might try the simple solution first. remove all power from the truck, and unplug the A/C unit. leave it sit at least 30 minutes to clear any memories and hopefully get the A/C head unit to reset. |
