Picked up my 2005 Excursion this weekend!

Thanks to those of you that helped me in my prior thread, I did buy the 2005 6.0l Eddie Bauer and picked it up on Saturday.

The *&#ing place didn't ship my Edge Insight CTS in time, but I had already made too many arrangements to cancel the 400mi round trip. After interrogating the Service manager and using a simple ODB2 reader I shrugged and signed away... I plan to bulletproof it anyway, right?

It was a nice 200mi trip home, I could not believe you guys were for real about the fuel economy. 20 MPG driving 75mph!! My suburban could only do that if I drove it off a cliff...

Oh yeah - per forum new truck rules, I attached a pic from my trip home. I actually stopped for coffee and only I needed fuel !

Congrat and welcome to the world of Excursions. Buying it was the easy part, now comes the real expenses, the mods. Just take your wallet, turn it upside down and shake all the money out on the hood. You will learn a ton about your ex here. Congrats!

My '05 Ex gets 20 to 22 mpg at 120 kph. It's like a sweet spot. Above or below that speed my fuel mileage goes down.

Update:

The week after I got the truck, we went camping. I cannot believe how awesome it towed the trailer. I forgot how many hills there are in the Poconos. My temps were fine and the Ex really towed the poop out of the trailer...

Oh btw BucOff, the wife did get over it. I got her a twin turbo MKT. Shes all better now.
