I went the BulletProof route since we have emissions inspections here in Arizona. I went through 4 of the stock EGR coolers in the first 100k miles, but this one is still going strong after about 2 years. The stockers would have NEVER lasted this long.

Might have a check engine light with an egr delete, need a tuner to keep the light off. I would go with an upgraded egr cooler.

If you can get away with deleting it that's the way to go.

I would delete it if you can get by with it in your state. You won't have to run a tuner to turn off the MIL if you just plug the old EGR valve into the connector and lay it in the intake area. Then again the MIL might not even come on.

Could be wrong, but the egr system is set up to see egr flow with the ebp and map sensor... So if the pcm commands egr valve open and doesnt see the change in pressure poof check engine light for egr insufficient flow. It may not set a code for egr position, but if it has the newer programming it will set a code for egr flow.

I just had Garett at Power Stroke Magic delete mine while he was replacing the heads and installing ARPs. No lights and runs very well... again...
