Rear Hatch Lock

The rear hatch on our 2004 Excursion is not working. When we lock the vehicle using the remote or doing it manually by pressing the power lock button all of the doors lock, but not the rear hatch. Turning the key in the key hole of the rear hatch also does not lock it. The key will turn both clockwise and counter-clockwise, but the hatch won't lock.

Really not sure how long it has been like this, but I'd like to know that it is secure.

I tried spraying the mechanisms with some WD-40 to see if that would help. I can now lock it with the key, most of the time, and it will unlock with the key or the remote. The remote will still not lock it.

I will go thru my old posts and find the name of the part you need from ford. Something remote assembly, it comes with everything you need including the new power door lock.

Sent from my iPod touch using Autoguide, so I can't see your sig.
