Why do you want to play blurays on a 7" screen? It would be much cheaper to buy some software to convert your blurays to dvd.

I've got a related question. Has anyone found a way to get an iPod input for the wife and I to listen to, for instance, an audio book going down the highway while the kids watch a movie in the backseat?

I can put an iPod into the Aux RCA jacks in the DVD player, but can't select that to play while the DVD plays for the kids.

I checked the "USA Spec" option, but it won't work with my unit.

I want to keep my steering wheel controls active as well.

You could go the route I did and just replace the DvD system completely...

Video system going in!

your only option is to use an FM transmitter. They are a PITA.
