Does anyone know if there's a significant sound difference between running a muffler and not on a 5" system?

O yes. There is a huge difference!!!!
My buddy Will went and took his muffler of his 5" mbrp kit and straight piped it and it sounded wayyyy better when you got down on it hard |

With no muffler, no cat and 4 inch piping...is there much difference between all of the exhaust companies?
ie: MBRP, Magnaflow, Diamond Eye? |

How is the noise in the cab of the Ex at 50mph to 70mph, is there lots of drone going with the straight pipe? I am getting a turbo back kit and am wondering if I should just toss the muffler.

Those are some sweet looking parts. I saw your other post, too. Awesome. BTW, how does that pipe fit and why did you get that brand? And did you get the larger replacement turbo drain tube? I would presume that you did since the old one is stacked up with all the other parts. Thanks.

The first thing that I think of is fitment. The fit and clearance of the downpipe would be pretty important and help set up the alignment of the rest of the system. I know it can be tweaked here and there as you go, but a good start is, well, good. That helix-like bend over the axle would be pretty important to get right if you don’t want vibration in the cab. Then kink-free mandrel bends, then material composition. Those would be some good things to start with in my book. |
