EX 7.3 vs. 6.0 mpg

I seem to keep ending up back at 03 Ex's, which means some have the 6.0 and some have the 7.3. They are priced almost the same. Which is going to provide better MPG?

A 7.3 will give you better mileage. My neighbor's F350 DRW Crew Cab Longbed with a 7.3 get's better mileage than my F250 sRW Crew Cab Shortbed with a 6.0.

I would steer well clear of a '03 or even earlier production '04 6.0.

The first 6.0 engines had some kinks to work out. If you decide to go that route, I'd check it over with a fine tooth comb before taking ownership.

I bought a '04 6.0 and had to put around $3000 of mine own money in it and had the dealership replace the oil cooler and egr twice.

I just don't hear those comments from 7.3 owners. I like my 6.0 X, but if I had to do it over again (and if I could find one) I would have bought the 7.3 engine.

Just my two cents...
