LSD
I was under the imprission that my ex had a limited slip but we are on vacation in Leavenworth WA and it's snowy here. I've had to put it 4x4 because my tires were spinning and I got out to look and I noticed that only my passenger side wheels was spinning. Am I right or wrong about the limited slip? I'm kinda dissapointed...

doesn't mean you don't have LSD... my truck has LSD and will one wheel peel also slips on slick surfaces. LSDs are not any good on real slick stuff, I think they were intended to assist on surfaces with good traction. you really nead something better on slick surfaces. could also need a rebuild.

Maybe it is in need of a rebuild, new clutches, steels and s-spring, it looks to be an easy job. I know there is a rebuild kit for Ford 9".

Mine is limited slip. Unless I get into it, it is one wheel. Sometimes unless it is a very good LSD, the clutches need som TQ to work.
My Mustangs have Auburn Pro drifs and they are for the most part locked at all times. One of my Galaxies is a Ford LSD 9" and it is the same as my truck, needs power to turn both. |
