Electrical Gremlins? Alt/ Batt ?
I’m curious if you guys know of a continues problem related to the electrical side of our trucks, I’d like to know exactly about the Alternator/Batteries life span of this components, the reason I ask is because a year ago I installed two brand new batteries and on my 3 er alternator I installed a DB 200AMP and that was 5 months ago, today I got the call from the wife that the truck is dead again, the last two weeks I did noticed that it was taking longer and longer to crank, is there something else I should check to find an end to this saga?
Truck is a 2003 Ford Excursion 6.0 Your suggestions are greatly appreciated |

Just wanted to share the outcome, it appears that the general advice that batteries on this trucks will last two years or so, is right on, one of the batteries was pretty bad and the other one was going bad, both of them were Die Hard 700c both of them were purchased on 08/22/2008, checking the charging system everything appeared to be in order, once you disconnect the batteries and put them on the tester with load the results were clear.
Sears now has a 900c Die Hard with a 4 year warranty so I upgraded them to that and we should see how long they last.I hope this helps someone down the road.
