I finally sold 2 of my trucks and am looking to get an excursion. I think the V-10 is a bad idea, what kind of gas mileage are some of you squeezing out of your excursions with a nice tune driving conservatively?

Also, what is a safe mileage X to look for without having to worry about digging into it any time soon?

my wifes 05 ex got 19mpg on a trip to pa. last summer. it gets 15 in town. only has a superchip tuner on it.

I have a relatively stock 04 X with an EGR delete, and I get almost 20 Hwy and 15 in town also. I don't recommend the V10 as the gas milage sucks. Every ford engine has its problems and the V10 is no different. Go with the Diesel 7.3 or 6.0. The 7.3 is good, and the 6.0 can be better if you eliminate the EGR and have studs. I don't have studs and have had no problems.
