Suspension recommendations

I am in a situation where I have a few weeks of time where I won't be needing my truck and I was going to take this opportunity to get some things done..

Tires being the first thing and the other is new shocks.

03' 2WD Excur Limited with 60K on the clock and stock ride height. What do you think would be the best route for my application? I don't see myself towing anything major apart from an enclosed motorcycle trailer with 2- maybe 3 bikes in it. Other than that, this will be a highway, home depot, grocery getter assault vehicle. I am hearing Bilsteins, but have also heard they work better for a slightly lifted truck? Should I just go with new oems? Thanks for the help.
