turbo loss of pressure

so i'm on my way home from the lake. i hit a pretty steep hill and the x jumps up to about 2500 as normal. but then the it sounds like the pressure is blowing out the side of the turbo. i don't think the 6.0 has a waste gate. but it would dump the pressure then gain it back then dump it again and it 2 more times. so i let off then pinned it and it went away and didn't do it the whole way back. should i be worried. is my vgt solenoid going out

Was it really dumping pressure? Or was it just spooling-down?

you know when you romp on the truck and then let off there is that flutter under the hood like the pressure is leaving the turbo. well for me it just kept doing that over and over
