18x9 wheels

Anyone runnin' 18x9 wheels with an E load range tire...and towing? What kind of performance are you seeing from this combo?

i am running an 18x10 with a 285/60r18 tire. i dont do a lot of towing but i lost about 5 mpg vs my stock set up.

'ya sure somethin' else isn't going on there? That's a huge loss for that size tire.

I run 35"..same MPG's as new..but I also have Cales SCT..

No nothing is wrong. You got to figure I am still running a 31.5" tire but I am running a 3" wider and 2" taller rim, so I have much more rotating mass. Now I if you compare my tires to Caryt’s 35’s he has a 3.5” taller tire than I do, so when we are both cruising 70 mph down the highway he is running a lower RPM. There for he still gets about the same mileage. If I slow down to 60 on the highway I can get my mpg’s back but I get run over by all the big trucks. I would like to lift my truck to fit 35’s or go back to the stockers to regain my mileage. Hope this helps
