Fueling your Ex...
Hello all,
I've been lurking for a few weeks as I have the urge to get a Diesel Excursion. One thing I am wondering about is, do you all pay the premium for fuel at the local gas station (in my case at the Mobil station 87 octane gas is only $2.45/gal where diesel is $2.89/gal), or, is it possible to refuel at a Truck Stop and get it for cheaper (I think it is like $2.59/gal right now or maybe less)? Will they take your money or will they give you trouble (I thought I saw something that said this price was for "tax exempt" vehicles)? Lt. Dan |

You can buy diesel where ever you choose. But most likely the cheap "tax-exempt" diesel is "red diesel" it is dyed red, and is not legal to run on the road. It is made for tractors/consctruction equiptment, the price difference is simply the road tax subtracted.
