Alternator Replacement Suggestions

Hello,

I have been having problems with my vehicle starting and giving the highlights of the story, ford checked my charging system and said the primary battery was bad and everything else was good to go however I took the truck to the local battery experts at Interstate Battery and they told me my battery was good and that the alternator was pumping the amperage necessary however even revving the engine at 3k RPMs it wouldn't touch 12.9 volts. Can anyone suggest a good brand for an alternator? I am into car audio so I would prefer to get a high output alternator. I called a local car audio shop and they said they recommend stinger brand alternators and said they are custom build for vehicles, does anyone know anything about that brand?

Thanks in Advance!

Even if I got a 350 amp, when I'm done I would still need a dual alt setup.

Hey can you give me some more info on the alternator you bought from this place? I called and got no voicemail, just a message saying they weren't home which makes me think this isn't a professional company that produces high quality alternators. If possible can I get some pictures?

Thanks

Actually I am looking into a slightly different option now for my electrical system. I want to have 2 separate electrical systems in my truck. Basically I would just be adding a new alternator and battery and isolating it from the primary charging system and leave this new system specifically for my audio equipment. My simple question, does anyone know of any kind of mounting kits for the excursion that would allow 2 or even 3 alternators at once? I plan to pull that much power as to need 2 alternators dedicated to my audio system when this is done and the biggest issue is mounting these things. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

Just have the number on the website..the fella's name is Randy Dubois. I can take some pics but it looks just like an alternator. They may not be a large company but that doesn't mean they don't produce quality alternators I went with them because they offer 70amp diodes instead of the anemic 50amp diodes that the big companies offer.

Well I was emailing with them and they said the best they could do for my truck was a 250 amp alternator and they never gave me a price either. I need to figure out where to get mounting brackets for more alternators though. A local company said they can give me a 350 amp alternator but it wont just fit in place of the stock alternator. I am probably going to have to add 2 more alternators for what I plan to do to my truck, any suggestions for mounting?

Probably need to have the mount fabricated.. you can check with local machine shops. I'm sure they could come up with a bracket that will hold the larger alternator and still bolt in the stock location..only concern would be clearance from the hood or other components.
